LELRR has a variety of opportunities for those interested in fostering. Everything from short weekend furloughs, to short term foster opportunities of 3-4 weeks, to longer term foster opportunities of longer than 3-4 weeks and even medical foster opportunities.
We understand that sometimes our fosters fall in love with their dogs, because, as we know, "the heart wants what the heart wants". If you think that might be the case, please complete the traditional adoption application (NOT THE FOSTER APPLICATION) and put "potential foster failure" on the application. A foster or adoption counselor will discuss foster and adoption opportunities with you.

Do I need prior dog experience?
Not necessarily! We match fosters with dogs that suit their lifestyle and experience level, and we provide full training and support.
Who pays for vet costs?
LELRR covers 100% of all veterinary expenses for foster dogs. You provide love and a safe home — we handle the bills.
What supplies are provided?
We provide a crate, food, and medical supplies. You just need space and love!
Can I foster if I have other pets?
Yes! We'll work with you to find a foster dog that is compatible with your existing pets.
What if I can't continue fostering?
Life happens. Please inform us if for any reason you are no longer able to foster.
